Who We Are
Internet Capital is run by a Senior Crypto Research Analyst (Benjo) and a Robotics PhD + Crypto Enthusiast (The Grand Tonto).
We are crypto investors, analysts, and degens who stay up-to-date with the latest in crypto markets, news, and trends.
The Grand Tonto
The Grand Tonto (aka Todd Jochem) is from a small town in southern Indiana, USA. He went to Indiana State University to play football, but soon realized he wasn't going to make it to the NFL. Instead he focussed on his academics and earned his Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.
While at CMU, his work developing some of the world's first self-driving cars earned him the Allen Newell Award for Research Excellence. He left CMU to found two companies in the transportation (Assistware Technology) and defense (Applied Perception) sectors. He sold both companies in the mid 2000's and was able to "retire".
After retirement he spent the next 13 years as a high school football coach, winning two state championships and sending 2 former players (and counting) to the NFL. Most recently, at the urging of Benjo, he's gone full throttle into crypto and building the Internet Capital brand through essentially being a pest on Discords and asking a lot of questions that others in the space may be afraid to ask! Tallyhoe!
Benjo
Benjo (aka Ben Jochem) is a crypto research analyst and industry enthusiast. He studied Finance and Data Science at Penn State, which led him down the crypto rabbit hole. After graduating, he began working as a crypto analyst at Messari before leaving the company to start a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance at Fordham. He is currently completing his degree and working as a senior research analyst at The Tie.
Benjo spends his time analyzing new projects and token incentive models from a financial perspective and thinking about the industry’s broader implications. He believes in crypto’s potential to transform the Internet and global financial system and aims to contribute to the movement through his work at Internet Capital.
